Ultra HD is typically associated with next-gen television sets, but that hasn't stopped Panasonic from debuting a mega 20-inch tablet with an Alpha LCD panel set at a cool 4k.
The display boasts a native resolution of 3840 x 2560, along with a pixel density of 230 ppi. The screen is capable of producing approximately 16.7 7 million colors and features an aspect ratio of 15:10.
The tablet - which runs Windows 8 Pro 64-bit - is powered by an Intel Core i5 3427U vPro 1.8 GHz processor paired with an Nvidia GeForce GPU. Additional specs include 4GB -16GB of RAM, a 128 GB SSD, WiFi, Bluetooth, one USB 2.0 port and a microSD slot for storage expansion.
The 20-inch screen also supports multitouch with up to 10 fingers at a time or input from a high-resolution digital pen. The ability to use a digital pen on the screen means that you can draw or write right on streaming images or videos.
The Panasonic tablet weighs in at 5.3 pounds and measures 10.8 mm thick, making it surprisingly easy to carry around. Unfortunately, battery life is a paltry two hours - meaning you won't be able to stray too far from an outlet.
Panasonic has offered no details on availability for the tablet, making it unclear if this is anything more than a concept prototype with an unrealistic price tag.
